And Another Falls...

One by one, members of Summit began gathering in the dark cavern of Coilfang Reservoir near the Meeting Stone. We had orders to be present and accounted for by 6:00PM Local Zangramarsh time.

When I arrived Lilyia was there waiting for the others to arrive. Spread through out the Reservoir were various teams prepping with their guilds. There were even some members of the local Horde factions gearing up. Fortunately they payed us no mind as they had their own concerns to contend with. "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" kind of scenario rules the Reservoir.

Soon Summit's numbers swelled to 23 and we were able to call upon the Alliance of the realm to assist us with a couple of able bodies. We were soon making our way through the waterfall that conceals the entrance to Serpentshrine Cavern.

"So Aurendar, is it just me or is there a sense of victory in the air tonight?" Lilyia whispered as we waited on the elevator to take us up to the first platform. Lil was right. There was something different about the night. There was an eerie confidence that permeated the team.

It felt... right.

Soon Teliko joined the ranks and gave out orders and assignments. It wasn't long after that, we engaged the first of the Naga in battle. Off in the distance, Hydross lay shackled. A prisoner of Vashj. We will be liberators and executioners all rolled up into one. I'm not sure of the sorcery behind these battles but the commanders have a way of marking targets so we all move as a single unit. I imagine that viewed from afar, it must look like a well choreographed dance. Hitting target after target. The sounds of iron hitting bone echoed off the cavern walls. The stench of ozone and burned flesh from our mages pyrotechnics fuels our rage and seals our enemies fates.

Before long we were standing before our goal. Hydross. As I looked back, a trail of destruction. What faintly resemble the remnants of Naga marked our movements. Nothing in our path had survived.

I would not want to be Hydross this night.

Hydross loomed before us shackled by some kind of arcane energy. Teliko looked upon the situation. Pondered for a moment, then with a swiftness, she motioned for the move in. Aljr was first to engage. With a bellowing voice from beyond all could hear "I cannot allow you to interfere!" Then all hell broke loose. Elemental fury run amok. It wasn't long before Grivest was ordered to take point and he began the tedious task of managing this beast while the rest of us engaged in battle. All the while minions formed from the Nether to combat us.

One by one, they fell. Slowly but surely Hydross was realizing that his fate would be sealed at the hands of Summit. It wasn't long before Hydross yelled out "You are the disease, not I" and with that the massive Elemental vaporized into a mist, leaving only two very large bracers as evidence of his passing.

Exhausted, I stumbled over to where I had last seen Lilyia. Fortunately she was alright. A bit bruised but none the worse for wear. "You look like you'd seen better days" I joked. "Rough night. Never date a Draenai..." She said as she smiled and washed a mana biscuit down with Draenic water. Same ol' Lil. She never lets me down.

We soon all made our way to the center of Hydross's lair where we shared in the spoils of war. All present and accounted for. "Good job everyone. You all are making some real progress!" Teliko shouted. With that, Summit stepped through Maeleigh's Portal to Shattrath and to safety.

One step closer to the day we enter the Black Temple and face Illidan Stormrage himself. But there is a lot of work yet to do...
