Compromising Position...

Seriously. If you are looking at me from this perspective, the gods are frowning upon you. You see...

I'm a hunter.

Not only do you have to worry about the ultimate results of me taking this stance but it's real easy to forget about the certain death that is about to be bestowed upon you from behind.

Then again, when Azrael unleashes his fury, you will beg me to place a razor shaft between your eyes. A fast and quick death is always preferable to a slow mauling demise.

This shot actually has quite an amusing story behind it.

One day while out hunting Arakkoa, I happened upon a gnome named Ansel Adomite. "Salutations hunter!!" Ansel cheerfully announced. "Shut up gnome! Do you want to get us both killed!!??" I lashed out. "Now wander back to Shattrath and mind your own..." I'm not exactly the joking type when I'm surrounded by Arakkoa. Your day can tend to turn real bad, real fast. If you know what I mean. After downing the Arakkoa in my sights, I called Azrael in and took a rest. "Just what the heck are you doing out here anyway?" I asked the little pipsqueak.

"Why... I'm field testing the image-replicator fizzwidget 2000!!" He proudly blurted. "The image fizzlewazzit... whozaa.... what did you just say? oh... nevermind." I said as I scanned the landscape for kills. "Look, you really need to get out of here. It's not safe for you and especially not for me. Run along Ansel..." I pleaded. "Okay, I will take my leave on one condition..." he said while cracking his knuckles. "Name it..." I said. "I get to take your image with my fizzwidget 2000! I can't think of a better test than to capture you working that glorious bow!!" Ansel Adomite shouted! "ShhhhhhSSSHhhhHSHSHH!!! Damn! You want to bring the entire village over for a photo shoot? Okay! Okay! Your only going to get one shot at this." I exclaimed.

I really wanted to target an Arakkoa, fire once and feign on this idiot but for some odd reason I couldn't bring myself to do that. I loaded up, found a nearby Warp Stalker and, with Ansel off at a safe distance, let her fly *** BAMPH!!! ***

I'm blind...

It turns out that whozzeee-watzzzit packs a punch! Thank god Azrael makes short work of Warp Stalkers all by his lonesome. Anyway, a few days later, this image arrives at the Aldor Post Office! How cool is that! Attached was a note thanking me for my time and 1000 reputation with Gnomeregan!

(oh joy...)

All is quiet.

All is still.

Save for the rhythmic exhales from Azrael over my left shoulder, there isn't a sound to be heard. I'm sitting here atop this Zangramarsh Mushroom Cap looking back into Nagrand. Below me is Windyreed Pass. It's a place I come to find balance. To find peace. Outland, though it has been ravaged by forces I still have yet to understand, has an eerie beauty about it.

Organized Chaos.

As in Azeroth, Mother has a way of handling the "misdoings" of her parasitic inhabitants. In a way, she has her own raids to contend with. To her, there is no Alliance, Horde or Burning Legion. To her, we are all equally guilty of crimes against her.

It's times like this, I try to reflect and remember where I came from. There was a time when we Kaldorei were respectful of her. Unfortunately, I see that slipping further and further away as we focus more on the battle at hand. I can't help but feel we will all pay the price in the end.

But I digress...

Word came to me this morning that Teliko is attempting to rally forces to venture back into Serpentshrine Cavern tonight. I look forward to being with my comrades once again. The holidays always seem to leave me longing to be with my partners in battle. I have no family here, I have to kin here. My family is Summit and standing with them makes me happiest. My blades are sharpened, my arrows straight and true.

I must venture to Shattrath for drink and hunt buzzard for Azrael's Kibler's Bits before heading to the stone in Coilfang. My time here on this mushroom cap is done. My rest finished.

The Battle beckons...

Summit Assemble!

It seems like only moments ago, we were leaving this dreadful place before we got the call to assemble at the entrance to Serpentshrine Cavern yet again.

One by one we all filed back in and prepped for what awaited Summit next. But first there were really horrible beasts that were none too pleased by our presence there.

And this is where the tale begins...

"Grivest, you are tanking right here. Drunken, I need you over there. You both hold those two in place. Ranged, assist Drunken first then Grivest. Mages, I need those Tidecallers sheep'd. I want this place looking like a Westfall farm when you all are done! Any questions? If not, Mag - - - PULL!" Teliko shouted to the team.

With that the battle began. With each passing moment beasts fell at our hand. The smell of death permeated the cavern. You could actually see fear on some of the Nagas' faces.

Summit had returned.

We soon reached a point where things changed. A familiar sound echoed through the cavern depths. Mrraaagaaaggggaalllleleeeelleleeeeee!!! That sound can only be one thing. Murlocs. That unforgettable sould is etched into the psyches of us all. The battle was about to step up a notch or two. They didn't let us down. These Murlocs are a far cry from the relatively docile species that reside on the shores of Lake Everstill in the Redridge Mountains. These ones can actually kill you and will do so gleefully if allowed to exist. Furtunately, it wasn't long before even the Murlocs were forever silenced at the hands of Summit. Together, Summit instills fear in even the gods. We now stand before our prize. Our objective...

Moragrim Tidewalker.

I recall spending hours reading lore on the denizens of Serpentshrine Cavern in the Stormwind Library. Tidewalker is a relentless killer albeit uncouth. We gathered in the passageway behind him and prepared for battle. This battle will test our strengths and will to see Summit through to the end. I fear that it's a battle that we will have to revisit time and again to perfect.

We shall see.

Preparing for battle. You can never do enough of it. Food, check. Water, check. Arrows, check. Potions... oh-no... I only had 3 Major Agility potions left. Normally this would more than suffice but this night? I think not...

"Loveth? Do you think you could take these materials and create some Elixrs for me?" I humbly asked Summit's Guild Master. "Sure!! Always happy to help ya out! Loveth gleefully responded. Ah Loveth, even though we are all staring death in the face, Loveth always has a happy-go-lucky aire about her. She grounds us all. Guiding Summit is a job she does better than any other. Bubbling away, Loveth gets to work creating my invaluable potions of Major Agility. Within moments she was done and I had my prize. I am now fully prepared. Azrael and I sat and ate our buff food for the battle while Teliko went over the details of the monstrosity that lay before us.

Soon Summit stood at the ready. Grivest in position, Misdirect inplace. Telkio orders "PULL!"

And Another Falls...

One by one, members of Summit began gathering in the dark cavern of Coilfang Reservoir near the Meeting Stone. We had orders to be present and accounted for by 6:00PM Local Zangramarsh time.

When I arrived Lilyia was there waiting for the others to arrive. Spread through out the Reservoir were various teams prepping with their guilds. There were even some members of the local Horde factions gearing up. Fortunately they payed us no mind as they had their own concerns to contend with. "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" kind of scenario rules the Reservoir.

Soon Summit's numbers swelled to 23 and we were able to call upon the Alliance of the realm to assist us with a couple of able bodies. We were soon making our way through the waterfall that conceals the entrance to Serpentshrine Cavern.

"So Aurendar, is it just me or is there a sense of victory in the air tonight?" Lilyia whispered as we waited on the elevator to take us up to the first platform. Lil was right. There was something different about the night. There was an eerie confidence that permeated the team.

It felt... right.

Soon Teliko joined the ranks and gave out orders and assignments. It wasn't long after that, we engaged the first of the Naga in battle. Off in the distance, Hydross lay shackled. A prisoner of Vashj. We will be liberators and executioners all rolled up into one. I'm not sure of the sorcery behind these battles but the commanders have a way of marking targets so we all move as a single unit. I imagine that viewed from afar, it must look like a well choreographed dance. Hitting target after target. The sounds of iron hitting bone echoed off the cavern walls. The stench of ozone and burned flesh from our mages pyrotechnics fuels our rage and seals our enemies fates.

Before long we were standing before our goal. Hydross. As I looked back, a trail of destruction. What faintly resemble the remnants of Naga marked our movements. Nothing in our path had survived.

I would not want to be Hydross this night.

Hydross loomed before us shackled by some kind of arcane energy. Teliko looked upon the situation. Pondered for a moment, then with a swiftness, she motioned for the move in. Aljr was first to engage. With a bellowing voice from beyond all could hear "I cannot allow you to interfere!" Then all hell broke loose. Elemental fury run amok. It wasn't long before Grivest was ordered to take point and he began the tedious task of managing this beast while the rest of us engaged in battle. All the while minions formed from the Nether to combat us.

One by one, they fell. Slowly but surely Hydross was realizing that his fate would be sealed at the hands of Summit. It wasn't long before Hydross yelled out "You are the disease, not I" and with that the massive Elemental vaporized into a mist, leaving only two very large bracers as evidence of his passing.

Exhausted, I stumbled over to where I had last seen Lilyia. Fortunately she was alright. A bit bruised but none the worse for wear. "You look like you'd seen better days" I joked. "Rough night. Never date a Draenai..." She said as she smiled and washed a mana biscuit down with Draenic water. Same ol' Lil. She never lets me down.

We soon all made our way to the center of Hydross's lair where we shared in the spoils of war. All present and accounted for. "Good job everyone. You all are making some real progress!" Teliko shouted. With that, Summit stepped through Maeleigh's Portal to Shattrath and to safety.

One step closer to the day we enter the Black Temple and face Illidan Stormrage himself. But there is a lot of work yet to do...
